LENS Project workshop: light vehicles - heavy impact?
15 May 2024 (12:00-17:00) - Leuven & Online
& 16 May 2024 (09:00-12:00) - Site visit in Leuven
City administrations across Europe aim to reduce the negative externalities of noise- and air pollution. These efforts often focus on (the most polluting) passenger cars and heavy-duty vehicles. Other modes of transport, such as light vehicles and two-wheelers (so-called L-vehicles), are often forgotten, as they either represent a small share of road vehicles or as enforcement methods and efforts are limited.
The EU-funded LENS project aims to change this by developing noise- and air pollution testing equipment and regiments for live on-street testing in three different cities, including Leuven (BE). Interested stakeholders have the chance to learn more about noise- and air pollution of L-vehicles by participating in the upcoming hybrid LENS event on 15 May 2024, from 12-18:00 in Leuven (location TBD), followed by a site visit of the live on-street noise and air pollution tests measuring in Leuven.
