POLIS Active Travel & Health Working Group and ACUTE Project Workshop "15 min city: From concept to practice"

Join POLIS and ACUTE Project on 28 November in Leuven, Belgium, as a side event from the 2023 POLIS Conference!

Minimising negative externalities and maximising benefits from trends and concepts always presents challenges for cities and mobility, and it is no different for the concept of the 15-minute city. Proximity, reduced need for long commuting, strengthening the local economy, rebalancing the urban space and improved quality of life are some things the 15-minute city concept aims to achieve.

For that, a strong link between mobility and urban planning and design is essential, but what else is needed? How can research help to translate the concept into practice and different realities?

The POLIS Active Travel & Health Working Group invite you to this joint workshop with the ACUTE project on 28 November from 10:00 to 11:45 in Leuven, Belgium, as a side event from the 2023 POLIS Conference.

Through activities and presentations, this will be an interactive workshop to take a closer look at the 15-minute city. In the workshop, we will explore the 15-minute city concept by looking into cities' and practitioners' needs and challenges. From small measures to ambitious plans, we invite you to share your experiences with us in Leuven.
