POLIS is delighted to announce our new webinar series in cooperation with the European Parking Association (EPA). The series will showcase several European cities, who will share their experiences with on-street and kerbside vehicle management.
This first event will kick off a series of three webinars focusing on several aspects of urban parking, including technological advancements and the adaption of off-street parking activities to new mobility services.
Commuters, parents, tourists, and shoppers, who are accessing urban space on a regular basis often don’t think a lot about parking and use the familiar facilities provided by shops, private companies or along the kerbside. This attitude can be observed by many politicians and planners as well, who are prioritising the decarbonisation of inner cities over the creation of an integrated management of vehicle parking.
POLIS and EPA aim to shed light on recent developments in kerbside vehicle management, as well as the technical progress related to new mobility services, including shared options, EV charging, seamless payment systems and more.
POLIS and the EPA have been working on this topic for over a decade together, bringing their respective members and expertise to the table for innovative and collaborative solutions. This webinar series will continue this work, drawing together public sector and industry stakeholders to discuss how new parking solutions can support the transition to a sustainable mobility future.
On-street and kerbside vehicle management
The webinar series starts kicks off by providing an overview of the management of integrated on-street vehicle parking activities of cities in Western and Central Europe. From Lisbon to Oxford, cities discuss parking solutions for cars and delivery vans, as well as the setup of EV charging services, including the respective regulations and controls. Additionally, topics such as environmental access management, permits, fines, seamless payment systems will be highlighted by a handful of large and medium-sized European cities.
